KINSMEN FIELD HOUSE Retrofit and Addition
The City of Pickering identified the need to retrofit an existing park building to optimize use by changing it from a 1 season to an all season facility, including interior upgrading and the addition of a barrier free washroom and change room. At the same time that the City decided to maximize the building potential they committed to minimizing the impact on the environment. The building is being set forth as an example of the kinds of environmentally responsible interventions possible for all sorts of public works while providing the public with greater service.
