
RAVINE GARDEN SUITE
While this property is ideal for a Garden Suite - a secondary residential builsing allowed by the new Toronto bylaw - being located overlooking a ravine and on a pie-shaped lot with plenty of garden space, it posed a number of challanges to obtain approvals as required from the City, the conservation authorities and the Province, coupled with a some technical issues in the bylaw. The Suite is intended for a family member to provide care to the aging property owner, while maintaining indepence and a sense of privacy. The design looks to minimize the impact on the residence’s garden space and fit discretely into the landscape while respecting the natural features.
